Capsular pattern This clinical pattern is a combination of pain, limitation of movement and end-feel, that makes us think of a lesion of the entire joint. Every pattern that doesn't correspond with this specific pattern is called a non-capsular pattern. This, of course, has diagnostic consequences. Every joint under muscular control has a specific capsular pattern (Part I, p10-12)
