Nerve root
Compression of one or more nerve roots can be the result of an internal derangement/disc protrusion. Note that one disc in the lumbar spine can compress two nerve roots simultaneously ; in the cervical spine this is impossible for one disc. Heavy pathology can also be responsible for major compression. The difference in clinical images is obvious. (Part I, p16, 178-179, 212-214, 271-273)
