nerve root compression can cause a Compression of one or more nerve roots can be the result of an internal derangement/disc protrusion. Note that one disc in the lumbar spine can compress two nerve roots simultaneously ; in the cervical spine this is impossible for one disc.
Heavy pathology can also be responsible for major compression.
The difference in clinical images is obvious.
