Medial coronary ligament friction massage

Friction massage of the medial coronary ligament is often necessary after a mild flexion-lateral rotation trauma

Medial coronary ligament friction massageThe starting position is 90° flexion and lateral rotation. For the left knee, we place the left index finger onto the tibial plateau. The finger nail faces upwards ; in this way, pressure can be applied in a downward direction. The thumb should be put far down, in order to maintain this pressure. The deep friction massage is executed in the normal way.
For a lateral coronary ligament, the knee is put in medial rotation.
