Bob De Coninck came in contact with dr Cyriax at the beginning of the sixties. Since then he discovered a passion for this kind of Orthopaedic Medicine.
He became the first PT-Cyriax-teacher, officially since 1969 (!), on the mainland and travelled around the world with Cyriax to teach courses.
He was the leader of dr. Cyriax's International Teaching Team until dr. Cyriax passed away in 1985. He was also a teacher in manual therapy in Eindhoven (Holland) for many years.
In the meantime he already founded, together with some other PT's and MD's, a Belgian Cyriax association (BWVOG - OMI) from which he was the president.
Internal problems in this association led to a split and as a result ETGOM was born in 1989.
Since may 2006, at the age of 71 years, he officially retired from ETGOM as a teacher and leaves the responsabilities to the younger members of the team. Of course, as founder and inspirator, he always has a respected honoury status in ETGOM.
